Bangladesh is one of the densely populated country in the world. This country is situated in Asia, basically in South Asia.

Bangladesh has 160 million inhabitants live in the area of 1,47,570 Square KM. Almost half of the number of people living below the poverty level.

57.5 percent of the population aged above 15 years can read and write. 53.90 percent and 40.80 percent of women between men.

The Official Name of Bangladesh is “People’s Republic of Bangladesh”. With the combination of two Bengali word ‘Bangla’ and ‘Desh’ (Country) made the name of Bangladesh.

The name of capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. Presently Dhaka is 414 sq. KM, but Master plan 777 sq. KM. Bangladeshi state language is basically Bangla (Bengali). Though Bengali is state language but English is also widely spoken and understood. Bangladesh Government run by Constitutional Parliamentary Democracy.

The boundary of Bangladesh is: Bounded by India from the North. East and West by the Bay of Bengal & Myanmar from the South.
Main seasons of Bangladesh is: Summer (March-June), Monsoon (July-Oct), Winter (November-February). The Temperature of Bangladesh is Maximum 36°C. and Minimum 7°C (around).

National Days of Bangladesh is : Victory Day-December 16 (Bangladesh Liberated from Pakistan in 1971), Mourning Day: February 21 and Independence Day-March 26. Bangladesh is basically moderate Muslim country. The main religion of this country is Muslim. Here Muslim is 84%, Hindu 12%, Buddhist 2% and Christian is 2%.

Main Rivers of Bangladesh : Padma, Meghna, Jamuna, Brahmaputra, Madhumati, Surma and Karnaphuli. Main Crops of Bangladesh : Rice, Jute, Tobacco, Tea, Sugarcane, Vegetables, Potato etc. Main food of this country is rice and curry, fish and vegetables. But roti (bread) widely used as breakfast (nasta).

Airports: Bangladesh has more than three International Airport. The big airport is in Dhaka. The name of biggest airport of Bangladesh is Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (SIA) (Formerly: Zia International Airport, ZIA), Beside that in Chittagong and Sylhet has also two International Airports. Moreover there are also domestic airports in Chittagong, Jessore. Sylhet, Cox’s Bazaar, Rajshahi and Saidpur. In Bangladesh there are also two big Sea Port. One is in Chittagong and another one is in Mongla (Khulna).
