To celebrate the 44th Victory Day of Bangladesh, Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre is organising a musical evening by Bangladeshi Band “Shunno” at Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, Road No. 2, House No. 24, Dhanmondi, Dhaka at 5:30 PM on December 20, 2014.
“Shunno” was formed in the year 2007. “Shunno” was founded by two friends Shaker Raza on Guitar and Imrul Karim (Emil) on vocal. They had been performing individually for a long time before and came in together to release their first song towards the end of 2007. Soon enough, Michael joined the band as Bass Guitarist and Tanim on Drums. Later Labib joined as a drummer. After one year of full-fledged activity, in 2008 “Shunno” released their 1st album “Notun Srote” under their own production house namely Maroon Music and got very good feedback from the audience. Shunno’s title track from their second album “Shoto Asha” was chosen by leading telecom operator Grameenphone as the Official theme song for the ICC World Cup 2011.
In 2013, “Shunno” travelled to United Kingdom for performances.They have also performed with different international artists like Jal, Atif Islam, Shafqat Amanat Ali etc. “Shunno” also performed in almost all the cities of Bangladesh .
“Shunno” has released four albums “Notun Srote” in 2008, “Shoto Asha” in 2010, “Gorbo Bangladesh” in 2011, and “Bhaago” in 2014. “Shunno” received awards like “Best Band Award” in 2008 from Meril Prothom Alo Awards, “6th Citycell-Channel I Music Award” in 2009 and “8th Citycell-Channel I Music Award” in 2011.They regularly performs in different channels & radio stations of Bangladesh.
