“Pathways from Poverty (PFP), a joint project of Practical Action Bangladesh and EEP, Shiree (UKaid-GoB) aiming to empowering extreme poor communities in NW Bangladesh. Unlikely other marginalized extreme poor Practical Action Bangladesh has been working with around 31,850 displaced households, became homeless and lost livelihoods due to river bank erosion and living at the embankments of  Teesta, Jamuna, Brahmaputra, Korotoa, Atrai and other river and their streams in the Gaibandha, Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmomonirhat and Nilphamari districts.

Since 2009 Practical Action Bangladesh has been working with these most disadvantages people who are socially and economically marginalized.

They provide both agriculture and non-farms skills, livelihood technologies and solutions for sustainable income generation. Sandbar cropping, an innovative agricultural technology, by disseminating this technology thousands of daily wagers/unemployed poorest of those five districts became producers and graduated from extreme poverty successively.

Practical Action Bangladesh is very enthusiastic to share this success stories with our concerned media personnel for bring larger benefit in the lives and livelihood of those extreme poor and wider dissemination of this sustainable technology in other similar parts of the country  and contribute in attaining MDGs one by reducing poverty and hunger by the year 2015.
