National HR Summit 2023

ICT Secretary Md. Shamsul Arefin said that today’s Digital Bangladesh will be transformed into the Smart Bangladesh of the Prime Minister’s cherished dream by the hands of students of the new generation and students will be the backbone of this work. So students need to be trained in modern IT education and skilled manpower in both software and hardware industries to keep pace with the advancing world.

He said that both the software and hardware industries are in great demand of skilled manpower in the world and have a huge market globally. The country’s economy will go a long way if Bangladesh captures a small part of the world market of trillions of hardware industry. So government has been giving equal importance to the hardware industry along with software.

He said these things while addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of The National HR Summit 2023, themed “HR Leadership for Smart Bangladesh 2041; Driving Ever-Changing Business through Innovation,” organized by Daffodil International University at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Savar, Dhaka today (Saturday, September 2).

He also said that in the next five years, things like artificial intelligence, and the internet of thinking will take the form of Aladdin’s monster, but things like data banking, cyber security, software development, cloud computing, system analysis, technological program management will remain in the hands of people. He urged the students to get out of the mentality of getting or doing government jobs and inspired to become entrepreneurs or innovators in this country with a large population.

The summit is organized by Daffodil International University in collaboration with a2i – Aspire to Innovate, and is proudly supported by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and the Bangladesh Society of Human Resources Management (BSHRM).

The event provided a platform for insightful discussions and exchange of ideas on shaping a smarter workforce for Bangladesh in the context of the country’s vision for 2041. With a focus on innovation-driven HR leadership, the summit aims to align business strategies with the ever-evolving demands of the global marketplace.

Monirul Islam, Additional Secretary, SDG Affairs, Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzamn, CEO, Daffodil Family, Mr. Tapan Kanti Sarker, President CTO Forum, Rtn. Mohammad Mashequr Rahman Khan, President of Bangladesh Society for Human Resource Development (BSHRM) Mr. Anir Chowdhury, Policy Adviser, Aspire to Innovate (a2i were present as the Special Guests. Prof. Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, of Daffodil International University presided over the program. The summit was also addressed by Mr. Mohammad Zaved Akhtar, CEO & Managing Director, Unilever Bangladesh Limited, Mr. Shehzad Munim, Managing Director-BAT Bangladesh, Mr. Syed Sanowarul  Huque, Group CEO, Unique Group, Mr. Md. Aminul Haque, Executive Director, Nagad and Professor Dr. Md. Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship of Daffodil International University.

There were five individual sessions on five different fields of Job sectors where Fifty top companies joined this Nation HR Summit- 2023, including Unilever Bangladesh Limited, BAT Bangladesh, Unique Group, CTO Forum Bangladesh, BDJOBS, Digital Security Agency, Nagad, Creative Business Group, Bangla Megh Ltd & Secure Data BD Ltd, PTDCA, Akij Bashir  Group, Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd, PRAN, AB Bank, Agora, Modhu City, TK group, Bitopi Group, HAMEEM Group, Shavron Textile & Trading Ltd., World Vision Bangladesh and many more joined the summit.
