All Bangladesh Senior Citizens Society and Dementia Care Foundation Bangladesh jointly organized Rally, Discussion and Health Camp on ‘International Day of Older Person
To mark the International Day of Older Person-2023 All Bangladesh Senior Citizens Society and Dementia Care Foundation Bangladesh have jointly organized Rally, Discussion Session and Health Camp today on 01 October 2023 at Daffodil Plaza, Dhanmondi in the capital. The rally was started from Dhanmondi-32 and ended at Daffodil Plaza, Sobhanbag Dhanmondi. Just after the rally a discussion session on rights and dignity of the older person was held at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil Plaza and a health camp was arranged based on Eye sight test, Heart disease, Memory loss/dementia, Diabetes test and treatment were providedat the health camp. Professor Dr. SharfuddinAhmed, Vice Chancellor, Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman Medical University was present as the chief guest at the Discussion Session and inaugurated the Healthservice Camp. Mr. Abu Alam Md. Shahid Khan, Former Secretary and General Secretary of Bangladesh Government Employees Welfare Society inaugurated the rally as the chief guest and was present as the special guest in the program,
While addressing as the chief guest Professor Dr.Sharfuddin Ahmed stressed on establishing an Institute of Geriatric Medical Institute. He advised the older person to abide by the science based lifestyle in daily life.
Preident of the program and Chairman of All Bangladesh Senior Citizens Welfare Society Justice Md. Momtaj Uddin Ahmed urged all to come forward to establish the rights and dignity of older persons in the society. The program was conducted by Engr. Md. Fazlul haque, General Secretary of All Bangladesh Senior Citizens Welfare Society.
Mr. Rashed Sohorawardy, General Secretary of Dementia Care Foundation Bangladesh and Co- Organizer of the program delivered an information speech on Demetia in the program. The program was also addressed by Professor Dr. Mohammed Amirul Islam, Engr. Mohammad Kabir AhmeBhuyan, and Professor DR. Humayun Kabir Choudhury.
